1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, display name, and profile photo from Google OAuth. This is used to identify your account.

Content Data

• Screenshots: Selected screen areas are sent to our servers for translation. Images are processed in real time and not stored after the response is returned.
• Audio: Voice recordings are sent for transcription and translation. Audio data is processed in real time and not stored after the response is returned.
• Text: Text submitted via Comment, Improve, or Summarize features is sent for processing and not stored after the response is returned.

Usage Data

We log each translation request including: request type (screenshot, audio, text), AI model used, token count, and credits charged. This data is used for billing, abuse prevention, and service improvement.

Payment Data

Payments are processed by Stripe. We store transaction records (amount, currency, package type, timestamp) but never receive or store your credit card details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Device Information

The App checks for updates by contacting our update server. During this check, the app version and platform are transmitted. No other device information is collected.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Provide translation, transcription, and text processing services
• Manage your credit balance and process payments
• Enforce rate limits and prevent abuse (30 requests per minute)
• Check for and deliver application updates
• Improve service quality and fix bugs

We do not use your content (screenshots, audio, text) for training AI models.

3. Third-Party Services

Each service processes data under their own privacy policies.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Authentication tokens and API keys are encrypted using macOS Keychain (Electron safeStorage).
• All network communication uses HTTPS.
• OAuth authentication uses the PKCE flow (no client secrets stored on device).
• Server-side data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL on AWS) with row-level security.

5. Data Retention

• Account data (email, name): Retained until you delete your account.
• Content data (screenshots, audio, text): Not stored — processed in real time and discarded.
• Usage logs: Retained for billing and analytics purposes.
• Payment records: Retained as required by financial regulations.

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR and applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Object to data processing
• Restrict processing of your data

7. Children's Privacy

FlyTranslator is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect, via the App or email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
